Mike Lucas

Manager, Assistant, Professional Horseman

Mike Lucas has been in the horse industry for as long as he can remember. His family has raised race horses for more than 50 years. Mike took over his father’s horse operation at age 17. In college he studied equine husbandry, nutrition and reproduction. This education was part of his pursuit to becoming a professional horseman.

At 19 years old while attending college, he started a horse transportation company. In 2003, Mike purchased a feed distribution company serving all of California. Not long after this business venture, Mike and Dr. Catt met at a local vet clinic. The rest you could say is history!

In 2005 Mike dedicated his time and attention to his horse transportation business. He took pride in providing expert care and attention to horses during their long journeys. After 10 years, a million miles and over 5,000 different horses moved, he decided to shut down his transport company. This is when Mike and Dr. Catt started what is now Dr. Cattrina Lucas Vet Inc.
